Auxerre vs Strasbourg Prediction
Auxerre come into this one on the back of a much-needed and emphatic 3-0 demolition of Olympique de Marseille at Stade de l’Abbe Deschamps last weekend thanks to a goal from Gaetan Perrin as well as a brace of penalties from centre-back Jubal with Derek Cornelius sent off for Marseille. The hosts had been winless in their previous 11 matches across all competitions. They now face a Strasbourg side that, coached by former Hull City boss Liam Rosenior, have been entertaining to watch with their 23 matches consisting of 69 goals as they now push into the top seven ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures, most recently sharing a goalless draw with Stade Brest to mean they have suffered just one defeat in their last ten matches in Ligue 1. Strasbourg are one of the more proactive and entertaining sides in France, whilst Auxerre will have some confidence from last week’s defeat of Marseille so both teams scoring may well be a good value bet for this one.
