Australia Betting Analysis
Coming off the back of an incredible WBBL campaign which saw her rack up 424 runs, Ellyse Perry will be hoping to carry that form into the Women’s Ashes, even though the first three matches of this multi-format battle will be One-Day Internationals. In home conditions, it would be no surprise to see Perry in the runs again over the course of the series and it’s well worth backing the experienced all-rounder to finish this particular encounter as Australia’s top-scoring batter.
England Betting Analysis
If England are to triumph in Australia, they’ll need Natalie Sciver-Brunt to be at her absolute best with both bat and ball. Sciver-Brunt has consistently proven a thorn in Australia’s side, particularly when batting, having top-scored in the last multi-format Women’s Ashes with 404 runs, including two centuries, which both came during the ODIs. The 50-over format is arguably Sciver-Brunt’s best as a batter, as it gives her the time to play herself in before accelerating later on. With that in mind, back the England star to score a fifty in the first ODI of this Women’s Ashes.
Australia vs England Expert Prediction
Winning in Australia for any England team is a tall order and it will be no different in this case. Heather Knight’s side saw their preparations disrupted due to a warm-up match being abandoned mid-game due to bad weather. Whilst the visiting bowlers got some time out in the middle, the batters didn’t and they face a big challenge against the plethora of bowling options at Australia’s disposal.
Ultimately though, it’s the depth of Australia’s batting that really puts them at an advantage. Not to mention the fact that it will likely take time for England to adapt to their environment, specifically the hot weather and the North Sydney Oval pitch. Expect the Aussies to start stronger and grab the first points of this multi-format series.
