Augsburg Preview: Maintaining good form
It’s been a very impressive run of results for Augsburg, who are currently sat in 12th-place. Whilst they may be safe in mid-table, Augsburg’s next challenge will no doubt be an assault on the European places but that is dependent on them maintaining their recent form.

RB Leipzig Preview: Staying in top four
A hard-fought 2-0 triumph for RB Leipzig against St. Pauli last Sunday saw them move back into the top four after the likes of Stuttgart and Freiburg had triumphed already in the round. To perform like they did under pressure was important and will have no doubt pleased head coach Marco Rose.
Now the onus on them is to back that result up with Augsburg one of the tougher places to go in the division. You have to go back to December for their last away win in the Bundesliga, drawing two and losing two on the road since then.

Both teams need three points here for different reasons. Augsburg to move up towards the European spots, RB Leipzig to keep themselves inside the Champions League places for another week at least. But Leipzig’s form on the road, combined with Augsburg’s recent unbeaten record makes this a huge banana-skin for the visitors.
We may well be in for an entertaining game when considering the importance of victory for each side. Both should be motivated to cultivate an attacking gameplan and push bodies forward the longer this contest goes on.
