Augsburg Preview: Searching For a Fourth Straight Home Win

Augsburg have been victorious in each of their last three games in all competitions on home turf and have lost just once all season at the WWK Arena so far. They’ll be confident of extending their current winning streak against out-of-form opposition, but having not been using to coming into matches as the favourites, how they react to that will be intriguing.

As it stands, Augsburg sit 11th-place in the Bundesliga and firmly mid-table. Victory in this latest round of fixtures could well see them break into the top ten, so plenty is at stake from their point of view.

Hoffenheim Preview: Nightmare Campaign Continues

Although Hoffenheim had at least shown signs of a potential turnaround in recent weeks, having not lost in their last three league matches, all that work was undone last weekend as they were beaten at home by fellow strugglers St. Pauli, the newly promoted side leapfrogging them in the table as a result.

That 0-2 loss dropped Hoffenheim into the bottom three and the calls for head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo to step aside are growing louder. Another loss here could well be the end of the road for him.

Hoffenheim Team News: Kabak Continues To Head Up Lengthy Injury List

Centre-back Ozan Kabak remains out through injury for Hoffenheim and fellow defender Stanley Nsoki could end up joining him on the sidelines here. Bebou, Becker, Lenz and Promel are also set to be absent.

Predicted XI (3-4-3): Baumann; Chaves, Stach, Akpoguma; Gendrey, Geiger, Grillitsch, Prass; Hlozek, Kramaric, Bulter

Augsburg Vs Hoffenheim Prediction

Hoffenheim travel to Augsburg low on confidence, not playing well and now under huge pressure having dropped into the bottom three. When taking into account Augsburg’s biggest strength being their home form and the struggles of the visitors, the smart move here would be backing Augsburg to pick up the three points, piling more pressure on Matarazzo in the process.
