Atalanta Preview: Struggling Bergamasci
Atalanta went into Christmas in excellent form and looked as though they could even challenge for the treble this season but within a month they were out of the UEFA Champions League and the Coppa Italia and their Serie A title challenge has also fallen apart slowly.
The Bergamasci were most recently beaten 1-0 by Lazio last weekend due to a 54th minute winning goal scored by Gustav Isaksen. That means they have now managed just five victories in their last 20 matches across all competitions.
Bologna Preview: Brilliant Bologna
After such an impressive campaign last season that was followed by the departure of their manager as well as some key players, Bologna have arguably been even better this time around under the management of former Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Italiano.
The visitors come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw with Napoli at the Renato Dall’Ara in their most recent outing last weekend to extend their unbeaten run of form as versatile Switzerland international Dan Ndoye scored a second-half equaliser for Bologna.
Atalanta Team News: Defensive injuries
Atalanta are dealing with key defensive injuries ahead of the visit of Bologna this weekend as the likes of Odilon Kossounou, Stefan Posch and Rafael Toloi are all doubtful, whilst Giorgio Scalvini remains sidelined due to a shoulder injury.
Predicted XI (3-4-3): Carnesecchi; Djimsiti, Hien, Kolasinac; Bellanova, De Roon, Ederson, Zappacosta; Juan Cuadrado, Retegui, Lookman
Unavailable: Scalvini (Injured), Scamacca (Injured)
Questionable: Posch (Injured), Kossounou (Injured), Toloi (Injured)
Bologna Team News: Ferguson out again
Scotland international midfielder Lewis Ferguson is once again sidelined due to injury for Bologna as a result of a thigh issue, whilst the likes of goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski and right-back Davide Calabria are also sidelined.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Ravaglia; Holm, Beukema, Jhon Lucumi, Juan Miranda; Aebischer, Freuler; Orsolini, Odgaard, Ndoye; Castro

Atalanta vs Bologna Prediction
Atalanta come into this one having pretty much more or less collapsed in the second-half of the season. Gian Piero Gasperini has also had to deal with issues off the pitch such as an argument with Ademola Lookman. They now face a Bologna side that have been very impressive throughout the last few months after a slow-ish start to the season so siding with Bologna looks the way to go for this one at the Gewiss Stadium.
Atalanta vs Bologna Tip: Double chance – Bologna to win or draw
