Aston Villa Preview: Villains on the push
Aston Villa come into this one on the back of heartache in the UEFA Champions League in midweek. Despite a stirring comeback to defeat Paris Saint-Germain by three goals to two in the second-leg, the Villains were still eliminated having lost by five goals to four on aggregate.
The Villains still have an FA Cup semi-final against Crystal Palace to look forward to but they have also moved back firmly into contention for a top five spot in the Premier League due to nine victories in their last ten matches across all competitions.
Newcastle Preview: Flying Magpies
Even with Eddie Howe in hospital battling pneumonia, Jason Tindall and Newcastle United have remained in relentless form and that continued in midweek as they dispatched of Crystal Palace by five goals to nil at St James’ Park in their game-in-hand in midweek.
That backed up hammering Manchester United by four goals to one in midweek and now means the Magpies have won their last six matches in all competitions, including ending their long trophy drought by beating Liverpool in the final of the EFL Cup last month.

Aston Villa vs Newcastle Prediction
Both of these sides head into the final few weeks of the campaign in excellent form with a real chance of UEFA Champions League qualification and the visitors could finish as high as runners’ up this season, too. Villa may rotate but have a lot of depth so remain very strong, whilst the Magpies will be as intense and as exciting on the counter-attack as ever, too, with their vertical style of football and an entertaining, rare meaningful game is to be expected for this one in the second city.
