Ashlyn Krueger vs Anastasia Potapova prediction

Ashlyn Krueger last participated in Charleston for her first clay court event of the year. She won in the first-round before losing to Emma Navarro in a close three-set match at the round-of-16 stage. Her overall season has been promising though, with a quarter-final at the Brisbane International in January backed up by a final at the Abu Dhabi Open in February and the fourth-round of the Miami Open a month later.

Anastasia Potapova will be her opponent in the first-round here. She’s already won a tournament this season, at the Transylvania Open in Romania two months ago as the number one seed. She started her clay court season in Stuttgart, winning a tight first-round match against Clara Tauson but then withdrawing before facing world number one Aryna Sabalenka. 

Neither player has got their clay court season off to the best of starts but we’re leaning towards Potapova, who did make the fourth-round of Roland Garros last year, to get it done in three sets.
