Less than 24 hours later, the best player in women’s Tennis right now takes to the court for the first time since her Australian Open final heartbreak at the hands of Madison Keys.

She has a point to prove and will want to get off to a fast start against Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, whom she has beaten in each of their last two encounters, both being at Grand Slam events. 

It won’t be easy for Sabalenka to immediately produce her best tennis after a period of rest. But her ceiling is far higher than that of Ekaterina and it would be a big surprise if the top seed was not to progress here.
