Arthur Fils vs Daniel Altmaier Prediction

Arthur Fils had to come from a set down against compatriot Constant Lestienne in the first round to progress in three sets and he will be keen not to go through that in his round of 16 clash with Daniel Altmaier.

Altmaier has had three rounds to go through to reach this stage as the 26-year-old German came through qualifying over the weekend. He then also came from a set down against Aleksandar Kovacevic in the first round to win 1-6 6-4 6-3 to earn this clash with Fils.

The two players are very familiar with each other having met four times just last year alone and it was Fils who had the edge winning three of those encounters. The one match that Altmaier did win came on clay but Fils won the two matches on hard courts. 

It is hard to see anything other than another Fils victory here. The only risk with the Frenchman is possible complacency and occasionally he seems to struggle to get himself fully motivated for lower key matches. That should not be the case here and we favour him to progress.
