It is a London derby with little riding on it this week as Arsenal, focused on the UEFA Champions League, take on Crystal Palace, focused on the FA Cup, at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal Preview: Focus on Europe

Arsenal come into this one on the back of a 4-0 demolition of relegation-bound Ipswich Town at Portman Road at the weekend in a game in which they punished a Leif Davis red card with a brace of goals from Leandro Trossard as well as Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri strikes.

The Gunners’ hammering of the Tractor Boys backed up an extremely impressive and mature performance last week to complete a 5-1 aggregate victory over European champions Real Madrid with a 2-1 win in the second-leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.

Crystal Palace Preview: Focus on the cup

Crystal Palace, on the other hand, were one of the best teams in the Premier League for quite a few months until a dip in form in the last few weeks as Oliver Glasner’s Eagles prepare for their FA Cup semi-final at Wembley Stadium against Aston Villa at the weekend.

They were most recently held to a dull goalless draw against AFC Bournemouth at Selhurst Park at the weekend, following on from a 5-2 defeat to Manchester City when they were 2-0 up in that game and then a 5-0 loss to Newcastle United at St James’ Park last week.

Arsenal Team News: Rest and rotation

Arsenal have been rotating a fair bit in the Premier League recently as they focus on the UEFA Champions League. Italy international defender Riccardo Calafiori could return next week, whilst Bukayo Saka is a doubt himself. They have some other confirmed, long-term absentees such as Gabriel and Kai Havertz.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Raya; White, Saliba, Kiwior, Zinchenko; Odegaard, Partey, Merino; Nwaneri, Trossard, Sterling

Unavailable: Gabriel (Injured), Tomiyasu (Injured), Calafiori (Injured), Jorginho (Injured), Havertz (Injured), Jesus (Injured)

Questionable: Saka (Injured)

Crystal Palace Team News: Richards suspended

Crystal Palace suffered their third sending off in three matches at the weekend as United States international defender Chris Richards received two yellow cards so he is now missing through suspension. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Palace rotate this midweek ahead of that aforementioned cup semi-final against Villa.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Henderson; Lerma, Lacroix, Guehi; Clyne, Kamada, Hughes, Chilwell; Devenny, Esse; Nketiah

Unavailable: Riad (Injured), Richards (Suspended), Doucoure (Injured)

Questionable:

Arsenal vs Crystal Palace Prediction

Both of these sides have bigger fish to fry in the last month or so of the campaign and both sides could well rotate a fair bit as they meet in north London with neither team overly focused on their league form and results at the moment. That could give a bit of a pre-season feel with a lack of intensity and Arsenal, especially at home, to simply grind out another victory would appear the likeliest outcome for this one.

Arsenal vs Crystal Palace Tip: Arsenal to win & under 3.5 goals
