Argentina vs Brazil Prediction

Argentina and Brazil are the two most decorated sides in international football but, despite beginning this match day sitting first and third in South America, there is a bit of a gulf at the moment with Argentina the dominant side ahead of this clash.

The Argentinians pulled off a slender 1-0 defeat of Uruguay the other day in Montevideo thanks to a second-half strike by Thiago Almada. That was despite the absence of Lionel Messi and Lautaro Martinez in attack. They are the reigning world champions as well as double South American champions.

Dorival Junior still gives off the impression of being a placeholder for the Brazilian national side at the moment but they did earn themselves an impressive, hard-fought victory over Colombia the other day. Raphinha opened the scoring before a Luis Diaz equaliser and then Vinicius Junior pinched all three points with a 99th minute winner.

Argentina are a competent and cohesive, club-like side up against a Brazil team with a fair bit of talent that likes of a general identity and siding with the Argentinians is the way to go for this one.
