Travel Distances 2019-20 – National League North
Here at TSZ we have put together a list of all the travel distances for the top six tiers of English football. The distances have been determined by using the shortest route by road on Google Maps (stadium to stadium).
This article focuses on the 2019-20 National League North season.
TOTAL DISTANCES
- Fans of Blyth Spartans will have the furthest to travel in the 2019-20 National League North. Placed just off the coastline of the North Sea in Northumberland, fans of the Spartans will have an average distance of 170.6 miles per away day to travel - a total of 3582 miles, not including the voyage home.
- At the opposite end of the table, fans of Derbyshire-based team Alfreton Town have the least distance to travel for their 2019-20 Premier League away days with an average drive of 94.8 miles (1991 miles in total).
WHAT IS THE LONGEST AWAY TRIP IN THE NATIONAL LEAGUE NORTH?
- The match-up between Blyth Spartans and Hereford represents the longest single away trip for all clubs in this season's National League North (281 miles).
- In fact, a trip to Croft Park represents the longest away day for fans of 13 of the National League North's 22 clubs for the 2019-20 season.
- Meanwhile, a trip to Hereford represents the longest single journey for fans of seven of the remaining clubs with King's Lynn and Gloucester taking one club apiece.
WHAT IS THE SHORTEST AWAY TRIP IN THE NATIONAL LEAGUE NORTH?
- The closest match-up in the National league North this season will be the West Yorkshire derby between Farsley and Bradford Park Avenue, as just the seven miles separate the two stadiums.
- Despite having the shortest total distance to travel, Alfreton are in the unique position of also being the furthest away from any single club in the National League North. At 66 miles (from Boston), they are the only club from the 2019-20 season that has more than 50 miles to travel for each game.
