PREDICTION
Everton’s last Premier League outing was a 2-1 win away Stoke, a result that has seen them record successive top-flight wins. However, they will face much sterner opposition this time around as they play host to Manchester City on Saturday evening.
The Toffees are one of the few teams to take points off the runaway league leaders this season after a 1-1 draw at the Etihad back in week two of the season. Since then, there has been a change of managerial personnel as Sam Allardyce now sits in the Goodison Park hot seat.
It will certainly be a clash of managerial philosophies when the former one-time England boss Sam Allardyce and Pep Guardiola square off, but ultimately it will be City who should pick up the win and move a step closer to lifting the league title.
MEMORABLE MEETING
January 2016 saw Everton and Manchester City paired together in the semi-finals of the Capital One Cup. The first leg took place at Goodison Park and it was first blood to the home side as they came out on top thanks to a 2-1 win. That result put the Toffees in the box seat for a place in the final, however City would manage to overturn that deficit with a 3-1 second leg victory.
