A grand total of 6,324,237 FPL managers from all over the globe took part in the 2018-19 FPL season. In the end, it was New Zealand’s Adam Levy who finished top of the table with a points total of 2659 – 50 more than his nearest competitor. Levy was one of 14 New Zealanders to finish in the top 1000 – not bad for a nation who only had 24,207 FPL managers in total.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, England make up the top represented nation in the top 1000 managers. As the host nation of Fantasy Premier League, English managers are responsible for just under 28% of the total 2018-19 FPL manager community (1,767,584 players). The nation’s top players this season were James Sutton and Andrew Green, who came second and third respectively.
Norway are the second best represented nation in the top 1000 but have done so with far fewer total managers than the English. With just 175,584 total players, the Norwegians’ affinity for FPL is well known. The country has produced excellent FPL players such as Ville Ronka in the past and they even have their own FPL style game for Norway’s top league – the Eliteserien.
The countries of Ireland, Poland and USA round out the remaining top five represented nations in the top 1000 FPL managers. Both Ireland and the USA have similar total numbers (214,209 and 228,928 FPL managers respectively), whilst Poland has the smallest pool of players of a nation in the top five with only 77,288 total FPL managers.
