PREDICTION
After defeat to Liverpool last week, Manchester City’s hopes of conquering Europe this season are hanging by a thread. They come into this game not only having to make up a three-goal deficit but also having seen their Premier League winning party ruined by Manchester United.
Pep Guardiola’s men are in something of a state of flux at present, with this blip coming at just the wrong time of the season. They have it all to do tonight if they are to progress to the semi-finals but at the same time it is not an impossible task.
If they can get the first goal this evening, then they can be afforded the belief of completing a sensational comeback. However, with the need for goals at one end, it leaves them vulnerable at the other.
Liverpool come into this game knowing that if they can get an away goal then it will all but secure their progress to the next stage of the competition. You get the feeling that City will have enough to win tonight, but it won’t be enough to overturn their heavy first leg defeat as Liverpool move on to the final four.
