THE TEAM NEWS

WARRINGTON WOLVES

Head Coach: Steve Price

Squad: Atkins, Austin, Charnley, D. Clark, J. Clark, Cooper, Currie, Davis, Goodwin, Hill, Hughes, King, Livett, Murdoch-Masila, Patton, Philbin, Ratchford, Tasi, Westwood

Unavailable: Kevin Brown, Jake Mamo, Tom Lineham

  • Warrington will be licking their wounds after they were on the end of a big defeat against St. Helens in their top-of-the-table clash and will be looking to bounce straight back as they host Salford
  • Tom Lineham will be missing for Warrington after he picked up a one-match suspension for a late hit on Regan Grace last week whilst Danny Walker is also omitted from the 19-man squad.

  • Ben Westwood has completed his four-match ban and returns to the squad here whilst Bryson Goodwin is fit enough to come back into the side after missing the last few weeks through injury.

SALFORD RED DEVILS

Head Coach: Ian Watson

Squad: Bibby, Burke, Dudson, Evalds, Flanagan, Griffin, Hastings, Inu, Jones, Lussick, Lui, McCarthy, Murray, Nakubuwai, Olpherts, Sa’u, Walker, Welham, Wood

Unavailable: Lee Mossop, Ken Sio, Logan Tomkins, Ed Chamberlain

  • Salford were comfortable winners in their Challenge Cup game as they ran in 76 points against Rochdale to end their four-match losing run but will need to turnaround their league form if they are to keep in touch with the top 5.

  • The Red Devils are nearing a fully-fit squad with a couple of players returning last week, including long-term absentee Josh Wood who retains his place in the 19-man squad but Ed Chamberlain is out through injury.

  • Prop Daniel Murray also returns to the squad with Jansin Turgut making way, which leaves head coach Ian Watson with some tough decisions to make regarding how his match-day 17 will look.

THE PREDICTION

Warrington will need to provide a big response after they were heavily beaten by St. Helens last week and now host Salford in the first of their two Easter weekend fixtures. Salford travel to the Halliwell Jones on the back of four-straight league defeats and will also need to put in a big performance. They got a boost last week by freely-scoring against Rochdale in the Challenge Cup but that will pale into insignificance if they go behind early on here. Whilst the Red Devils will be competitive, Warrington should have too much on home soil.
