- After just one solitary win from their six matches so far, Kent have nothing but pride to play for at this stage but they showed plenty of that last time out as they handed Surrey a comprehensive eight-wicket defeat with 19 overs to spare last time out.
- Their bowling attack was in great form as they bowled Surrey out for a paltry 127 and not only were their frontline bowlers like Matt Milnes (3/37) performing well, but part-timers like Daniel Bell-Drummond (2/22) and Matt Renshaw (2/17) chipped in with valuable contributions.
- Talented youngster Jordan Cox has been called into the squad for this match and they may consider giving him an opportunity to get some experience here but otherwise they could be unchanged from the Surrey win.
ESSEX

- Essex have been hugely frustrating in the tournament so far having moments of brilliance, but too many below par phases which has seen them drop out of contention, but they will play for pride in these final two matches.
- They have decided to rest veteran captain Ryan ten Doeschate for this match so Simon Harmer will lead the team in his absence while star bowler Peter Siddle has also been left out for this one.
- Youngsters Aaron Beard and Rishi Patel are named in the 12-man squad so at least one of them if not both, will start here as Essex start to prioritise other competitions as they rest their two key veterans.
THE PREDICTION
It has been a disappointing campaign for both of these teams as both have nothing but pride to play for. Kent will likely have the greater motivation in front of their home fans and they come off their first win which should give them a boost in confidence. Some of their key players like Bell-Drummond and Renshaw have shown some signs of finding some form, and against an Essex side that have rested two of their key men, the home side have to be favoured to win this.
