THE TEAM NEWS

GOLD COAST TITANS

Head Coach: Garth Brennan

Starting 13: Brimson, Don, Arthars, Kelly, Copley, Roberts, Jacks, Wallace, Peats, Fotuaika, Proctor, Cartwright, Whitbread – Interchanges: Matthews, Rein, Stockwell Boyd – Reserves: Sami, Lee

Unavailable: Ryan James, Michael Gordon, Ash Taylor, Keegan Hipgrave, Jai Arrow, Tyrone Peachey

  • Gold Coast's inconsistency reared its head again as they failed to back-up their win over Brisbane with a loss at home to the Warriors and now face a tough contest against the Sea Eagles.

  • Jai Arrow is out for the Titans after he underwent ankle surgery whilst Moeaki Fotuaika is a doubt after withdrawing from the Tonga squad but he is listed to start at prop and looks set to play at this stage.

  • Tyrone Peachey is also out for the Titans but Kevin Proctor has been cleared to return and will start in the back row in place of Peachey with Will Matthews taking a spot amongst the interchanges.

MANLY-WARRINGAH SEA EAGLES

Head Coach: Des Hasler

Starting 13: T. Trbojevic, Taufua, Walker, Suli, Garrick, Cust, Cherry-Evans, Fonua-Blake, Fainu, Taupau, Thompson, Sironen, J. Trbojevic – Interchanges: Elliot, Waddell, Boyle, Paseka – Reserves: Elgey, Olakau’atu

Unavailable: Albert Hopoate, Toafofoa Sipley, Lachlan Croker, Brad Parker, Apisai Koroisau, Jack Gosiewski

  • Manly made it back-to-back wins as they put in a superb display to claim a comfortable win over St. George last weekend and will fancy their chances of making it three victories in a row as they head to Gold Coast.

  • The Sea Eagles will be without hooker Apisai Koroisau after he was ruled out for up to a month following an ankle injury against the Dragons whilst Jack Gosiewski is also out through injury.

  • Manase Fainu will start at hooker in place of Koroisau whilst Brendan Elliot and Corey Waddell are the new faces on the bench with Des Hasler’s injury list beginning to grow once again.

THE PREDICTION

Gold Coast showed why they are near the foot of the NRL ladder as they fell to defeat against New Zealand Warriors with them failing to back-up their win over Brisbane. They now host the Sea Eagles who looked very good against St. George and Manly can win again with Gold Coast struggling to deal with their intensity. The Titans have shown signs of improvement recently but it is their inconsistency that lets them down with the Sea Eagles able to take advantage of that here.
