THE TEAM NEWS
CANTERBURY-BANKSTOWN BULLDOGS
Head Coach: Dean Pay
Starting 13: Meaney, Okunbor, Holland, Hopoate, R. Smith, Cogger, Lewis, Tolman, Marshall-King, Ogden, Jackson, Harawira-Naera, Martin – Interchanges: Lichaa, Fualalo, Elliott, C. Smith – Reserves: Crichton, Montoya, Faitala-Mariner, Brown

- Canterbury were desperately disappointing as they failed to back up an impressive display against Melbourne with St. George thrashing them, and they now face another tough contest against South Sydney.
- The Bulldogs avoided injuries against the Dragons but despite the poor showing, head coach Dean Pay has resisted the urge to make wholesale changes to his side with him making just one enforced alteration.
- Sauaso Sue copped a suspension last week so Danny Fualalo is named on the bench but Pay could make some further changes to his side with Raymond Faitala-Mariner included in the reserves and pushing for a recall.
SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS
Head Coach: Wayne Bennett
Starting 13: Johnston, Allan, Turner, Gagai, Graham, Walker, Reynolds, G. Burgess, Cook, T. Burgess, Sutton, S. Burgess, Murray – Interchanges: Tatola, Nicholls, Lowe, Knight – Reserves: Tracey, Sironen, Kennedy, Gagan
Unavailable: Dean Britt, Kurt Dillon, Adam Doueihi, Braidon Burns
- South Sydney scored three unanswered tries in the final quarter to overcome New Zealand Warriors with Cody Walker bagging four to secure the win for the Rabbitohs as they made it four wins from five.
- Souths have had a rocky week off the field as they have had to deal with the decision by Greg Inglis to retire with immediate effect, the Rabbitohs skipper deciding the time was right to end his playing days.
- Sam Burgess has been named as the new captain and will lead his side for the first game in his tenure against Canterbury in what is an unchanged 17 from last week’s win over the Warriors.
THE PREDICTION
South Sydney left it late to come back in impressive fashion to beat New Zealand Warriors last week but there could be a cloud over this week's preparation, with Greg Inglis retiring with immediate effect. It has been an emotional week for all concerned at the club but the players will want to channel that in the correct manner. Souths have enjoyed a solid start to the season but the Bulldogs have been poor, with just one win to their name, and their run of one win in five will be extended with Souths winning this one.
