- St Helens just about managed to see off Hull FC in their Challenge Cup quarter-final last week with Saints’ unbeaten record in all competitions extending to seven matches. In the previous league match, St Helens were dominant as they defeated Castleford 18-40.

- Hull KR couldn’t build on their win over Wigan as they succumbed to defeat against Castleford last week. In a lacklustre display that saw head coach Tim Sheens lock his players in the dressing room for clear-the-air talks after the game, Rovers fell to a heavy 14-42 defeat.
- Rovers make three changes to last week’s 19-man squad. Aaron Smith is ineligible against his parent club whilst Kieren Moss and Will Dagger have been left out. Josh Johnson returns from a ban along with Matty Marsh and Elliott Wallis.
- Hull KR have won just one of their seven away games in the league this season with their poor away form a big reason that they find themselves in 11th place.
THE PREDICTION
St Helens will be hoping to extend their lead on Wigan at the top of the Super League table after the Warriors were defeated in Thursday night’s encounter with Wakefield. Saints currently sit four points ahead of the Warriors but will fancy their chances of extending that to six points as they host Hull KR. Rovers haven’t travelled well this season, winning just one of their seven games on the road. To make matters worse for Hull KR, they were comfortably beaten at home by Castleford last week with a big reaction needed to that poor effort. However, they couldn’t have chosen a worse game to play as they travel to the league leaders. Unbeaten in seven games in all competitions, Saints should have far too much for Rovers on home soil.
