ANGERS PREVIEW: IMPROVED ANGERS

Following their promotion to the top-flight last season with young coach Alexandre Dujeux at the helm, Angers started the season with a long winless run of form but they have begun to turn things around by being extremely stubborn and begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting outside of the bottom three and the danger zone.

They come into this one on the back of a four-match unbeaten run of form which started with a draw at Stade Velodrome against Olympique de Marseille and then recent back-to-back victories which included a slender 1-0 defeat of title challenging Monaco at Stade Louis II last weekend.

PSG PREVIEW: DISAPPOINTMENT IN PARIS

Luis Enrique has signed a new deal at Paris Saint-Germain with some supporters unhappy about it and the Parisiens have once again underperformed in the UEFA Champions League in midweek, sitting 25th in the 36-team league phase table after a 2-1 loss to Atletico Madrid at the Parc des Princes in midweek.

The performance from PSG was impressive and they were unfortunate to lose but performances have perhaps dipped in Ligue 1. They have, though, started the domestic campaign with eight victories and two draws in their opening ten matches as they begin the weekend sitting six points clear at the top-of-the-table.

ANGERS TEAM NEWS: ANGERS INJURIES

Angers are dealing with an array of injuries ahead of this weekend’s clash with Paris Saint-Germain but none are fresh so they can name an unchanged eleven.

Sidiki Cherif remains sidelined with a thigh injury, as does Cedric Hountondji, whilst both Joseph Lopy and Zinedine Ferhat are also sidelined.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Fofana; Arcus, Biumla, Lefort, Hanin; Aholou, Belkelba; Allevinah, Abdelli, El Melali; Niane

UNAVAILABLE: Cherif (Injured), Lopy (Injured), Ferhat (Injured), Hountondji (Injured)

PSG TEAM NEWS: YOUTHFUL PSG

Luis Enrique has signed that new deal with an intention on making PSG a more youthful and exuberant side and that means they will likely name another inexperienced eleven.

Goncalo Ramos returned from injury recently when he went off against Le Havre on the opening weekend but the Portugal international is once again unavailable.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Safonov; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Willian Pacho, Mendes; Neves, Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz; Dembele, Marco Asensio, Barcola

UNAVAILABLE: Kimpembe (Injured), Ramos (Injured)

ANGERS VS PSG PREDICTION

Angers welcome PSG to the Parc des Princes looking to continue their recent success. They will camp with men behind the ball and seek to frustrate a PSG side that may be tempted to rotate ahead of the November international break. The sheer quality of the visitors means they should still come out on top but it is unlikely to be overly thrilling for the neutral in what could be a frustrating encounter for Luis Enrique and his champions.
