Andrey Rublev vs Matteo Arnaldi Prediction

Andrey Rublev is the seventh seed in Indian Wells this week and the Russian star will have high hopes based on his recent form. He comes in having won the Qatar Open a couple of weeks ago and he beat some quality players in the process. 

The 27-year-old beat Alex de Minaur and Felix Auger-Aliassime en route to the final and then he beat Jack Draper to lift the title. All three wins came in three sets as he really had to dig deep and the manner of those wins will serve him well.

He meet Italy’s Matteo Arnaldi in his opening match and the pair have met three times before. Rublev has won two of those meetings including the last one.

Arnaldi overcame Aleksandar Kovacevic in the first round 6-3 5-7 6-4 and he really had to battle for the win. The concerning part from that match was the 15 break points conceded on his serve and against somebody with the return game like Rublev, he will struggle to win if he maintains those levels.

Rublev will be confident and should be suitably motivated to do well this week. We think he simply has too much for Arnaldi and we expect the Russian to get the win.
