Andrey Rublev vs Arthur Fils prediction

Andrey Rublev got his Monte-Carlo campaign off to a winning start, defeating Gael Monfils 6-4 7-6 (2). The seventh seed managed to save four set points in the second set before going on to win in the tiebreak. A two-time finalist of the event, with a win in 2023, Rublev will hope for a deep run here but faces a tough assignment in the next round in the shape of Arthur Fils.

Fils comfortably made it through against Flavio Cobolli, beating the Italian 6-2 6-4. The Frenchman was not broken on his serve for the second match in succession and will aim for a third successive Masters 1000 quarter-final when he takes on the world number nine.

Rublev leads the head-to-head 1-0, winning last year in Hong Kong on hard court in three sets but they’ve never played on clay before. Despite being the lower ranked of the two, Fils has made a really strong start to the event, and we fancy him to come through in three sets.
