  • Their only previous World Cup qualifying meetings were in the 2018 edition. Latvia won 1-0 in Andorra in September 2016 and 4-0 in Riga in October 2017.
  • Andorra have won four of their previous 62 World Cup qualifying matches (D3 L55). Two if the victories were in the 2022 edition against San Marino.
  • Latvia finished their Qatar 2022 qualifying campaign with a 3-1 win at Gibraltar, they are now aiming to win successive World Cup qualifying matches for the first time since 2009 when they went on to win three in a row.

Andorra vs Latvia Prediction

In the much tougher of the two UEFA Nations League groups, Andorra managed to collect just one point from their four matches sitting below Moldova and Malta. They now take on a Latvia side that finished rock-bottom in Group 4 of League C.

Andorra, with former Andorra international Koldo Alvarez at the helm, are currently ranked 171st in the world according to FIFA as ‘The Tricolours’ generally improve. They have, though, managed just one win of late and that came in a friendly against San Marino in October by two goals to nil thanks to goals from Albert Rosas and Marc Pujol.

Latvia have only ever qualified for one major tournament, UEFA EURO 2004, but they have since majorly drifted and even finished third in the 2024 Baltic Cup behind Estonia and Lithuania for the first time since 1996 and just the second time ever. Former Italy U17, U19, U20 and U21 coach Paolo Nicolato took charge in February last year.

That appointment did lead to a slight improvement but these are two poor sides that lack goals primarily and the likelihood is quite a tortuous watch for the neutral in Andorra this week.

Andorra vs Latvia Tip: Under 2.5 goals
