Anastasija Sevastova vs Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova prediction

Anastasija Sevastova is now ranked 364 in the world after a difficult five years which has seen her play a minimal amount of tennis. She announced she was taking an indefinite break from her tennis career in February 2022, and then made a return to the tour after maternity leave two years afterwards.

Unfortunately, she suffered a serious injury just a month later in Austin as she tore her Achilles tendon and hasn’t played since. She makes her full return against former French Open finalist Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. The Russian has not played for over a month since her first-round loss in Miami.

She has struggled to make a breakthrough at any event since her fine run to the quarter-finals of the Australian Open where she lost to world number one Aryna Sabalenka in three sets.

Pavlyuchenkova may be rusty, but she has pedigree on this surface, having made a Grand Slam final and won three WTA Tour finals on clay, and we think she’ll win comfortably.

Anastasija Sevastova vs Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova tip: Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova to win 2-0
