Anastasia Potapova vs Clara Tauson prediction

Clara Tauson could reach the world’s top 20 for the first time with a strong run in Stuttgart. 

The Dane is currently at a career-high 21 in the rankings after an appearance in the final in Dubai back in February. 

The 22-year-old didn’t make much impact at Indian Wells or Miami so the switch to clay may have come at a good time with few ranking points to defend prior to the French Open. 

Potapova has lost three of her last five matches since lifting the title at Cluj-Napoca and is in danger of dropping out of the world’s top 40. 

This will be her third meeting with Tauson with the H2H tied at 1-1, although the 24-year-old Russian did win their most recent clash in Cleveland last year. 

Tauson may face more of a battle in this than many would expect, but she is in the form of her life this year and that should get her over the line.
