Alexandre Muller vs Sebastian Baez Prediction
Alexandre Muller has enjoyed a fantastic week in Rio and he will be looking for a second ATP Tour title in 2025 already after he won the Hong Kong Open at the turn of the year. The 28-year-old Frenchman is arguably playing the best tennis of his career and he comes into this final full of confidence.
Muller has beaten three Argentines in the last three rounds and he comes off his toughest test as Francisco Comesana became the first player to take a set off him this week in the semis. Muller powered on however and took it in three sets 7-5 6-7 6-3.
That may well serve him well coming into this final so he has tasted some adversity as he won his previous three matches in straight sets.
He now takes on Sebastian Baez; the fourth Argentine he will meet in succession.
The 24-year-old Argentine has been getting better with every tournament and better with every round in Rio this week. The fifth seed has been tested throughout and he had to come from a set down in his semi-final against compatriot Camilo Ugo before winning in three 3-6 6-1 6-1.
Baez and Muller have never met before on the ATP Tour but this has all the makings for a really good final with two in-form players. Muller is flying right now but Baez will be well up for this one. We like Muller but not enough to go with him here. Our pick is on the game betting and we see this being a see-saw battle that could well go three sets.
