Alexandre Muller vs Camilo Ugo Carabelli prediction

Alexandre Muller will aim to mark his maiden first-round appearance at the Monte-Carlo Masters with a win over qualifier Camilo Ugo Carabelli.

The Frenchman’s best result so far in 2025 came on clay when he made the final at Rio de Janeiro in February, but he will have been disappointed to bow out in the last eight in Marrakesh last week against Poland’s Kamil Majchrzak.

The 28-year-old is currently at a career high, but the world number 41 faces a tricky test against an Argentine opponent sitting just 22 places below him in the rankings and who has spent most of the season on clay.

Ugo Carabelli reached the last four in Rio and Santiago as well as lifting a Challenger trophy on the dirt in Rosario.

The 25-year-old South American won in straight sets in both of his two matches in qualifying against Hugo Gaston and Hamad Medjedovic and will fancy his chances in this one.

Muller has won their two previous matches in Challenger events, including a clay encounter in Blois three years ago, and given his recent form he should have enough to edge out Ugo Carabelli and reach the second round.
