Alexander Zverev vs Taylor Fritz Prediction
Alexander Zverev has been in impressive form this week and it will be interesting to see if he can continue his outstanding form from the group stage into the knockout phase.
He won all three matches against Andrey Rublev, Casper Ruud and then Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets and he is one player that has adapted to the conditions and the surface extremely well.
He now meets Taylor Fritz in what should be a high-quality encounter if they maintain their levels.
Fritz started the week with a straight-sets win over Daniil Medvedev before he lost to Jannik Sinner despite playing really well. He then grabbed a three-set win over Alex de Minaur to seal his spot in the semis and a clash with Zverev.
These two have been involved in some classic matches in the past and played four times in 2024. Zverev won the first match in Rome but then Fritz won the next three at Wimbledon, then the US Open and then in the Laver Cup. The two wins in the two Grand Slam events will give Fritz plenty of confidence coming into this one as he has certainly benefited in those five-sets matches.
Over the best of three however and based on their performances this week, we really like the look of Zverev. There really will be very little to split these two and it will come down to the crunch moments and who can take the odd break point when they come. We have to favour Zverev though based on how well he is playing.
