Alexander Zverev vs Tallon Griekspoor prediction

Alexander Zverev comfortably made it through to the quarter-finals with a 6-3 6-2 win over Daniel Altmaier. He converted four of his six break point opportunities and sealed the win after 80 minutes. He has conceded just 10 games across the opening two matches and is the hot favourite to win the title at the end of the week.

The world number three takes on Tallon Griekspoor for a place in the last four. The Dutchman beat Yannick Hanfmann 7-6 6-3 in an efficient performance. He’s made a pretty impressive start to his clay court campaign, making the final in Marrakech and getting to the quarters here.

These two have played each other a total of eight times, with five having taken place in the space of the last year. They’ve only met on clay once, with Zverev winning a five-set epic at the French Open last year. Griekspoor can still take encouragement from winning their last encounter in Indian Wells just last month.

This will be a step up for Zverev in comparison to his first two rounds and he will be tested at times. We still think he’ll get through, but he may need three sets to get it done.
