Alexander Zverev vs Francisco Cerundolo Prediction

Top seed Alexander Zverev did enough in his win over Dusan Lajovic in the round of 16 to make it through to the quarters but he now faces a really tough test in home favourite Francisco Cerundolo.

The Argentine beat Zverev in their only previous meeting on the ATP Tour last year in Madrid on clay and the surface certainly makes it a much more even match-up than any of the other surfaces.

Cerundolo comes off a good win over his brother and he is enjoying playing in his native Argentina with outstanding support from the home crowd. He will certainly have that in abundance here as he takes on Zverev and we would not rule out the 26-year-old pulling off an upset here.

This is definitely a match that is best to look at in-play but we fully expect this one going the distance. Zverev will not be a pushover naturally, Cerundolo will fight until the end, so expect control to switch between the two throughout and this to go three sets.

Alexander Zverev vs Francisco Cerundolo Tip: Over 2.5 sets
