Alexander Zverev vs Daniel Altmaier prediction

Alexander Zverev made a comfortable start to his BMW Open campaign with a 6-4 6-1 win over Alexandre Muller, only giving up one break point opportunity. He now takes on Daniel Altmaier, who continued his encouraging run of form at the Monte-Carlo Masters with a first-round victory in Munich.

He beat Chun-Hsin Tseng in two close sets, winning out on tiebreaks in both and can now look forward to testing his game against the world number three. They’ve never faced off on clay before but have played three times against each other, with Zverev leading the head-to-head 2-1.

Interestingly, Altmaier did win the last match between the pair, defeating Zverev in Acapulco in three sets early last year. We expect Zverev to make it through to the next round, but he will be tested as Altmaier is clearly performing at a decent level right now, with five wins from his last six matches including qualifying.
