Alexander Zverev vs Casper Ruud Prediction

Alexander Zverev was impressive in his 6-4 6-4 victory against Andrey Rublev and the ease of which he won will give him great confidence. Rublev played well and showed great fight but Zverev looked a class apart and when he had to raise his level, he did so to break with minimal fuss and won the match.

It was arguably the best display of any player in the opening round of matches so it will be interesting to see if he can follow it up here against Casper Ruud.

The 25-year-old Norwegian picked up his first ever win over Carlos Alcaraz on Monday at the fifth time of asking. The 6-1 7-5 win was down to Ruud’s good play, but just as much down to a frustrated Alcaraz who seemingly struggled with the surface. Ruud had no such problems on the surface and picked up a good win that will boost his confidence no end.

These two have played each other five times before and it is Zverev who leads the way with three wins. He won their only meeting at Roland Garros this summer in four sets.

We strongly favour Zverev here after his performance in the opening match. He looks the most comfortable on this surface and we like the 2018 and 2021 winner to win and qualify for the semis here.
