Alexander Zverev vs Arthur Fils Prediction
Alexander Zverev has so far done a good job of bouncing back from his shock early defeat at the hands of Tallon Griekspoor at the Indian Wells Open, with the German seeing off Jacob Fearnley and Jordan Thompson in straight sets so far in Miami.
The top seed, who is still yet to win a tournament in 2025, is now one match away from matching his semi-final appearance in Miami last year, while he best run at the tournament came back in 2018 when he lost in the final to John Isner.
The ever-improving Arthur Fils came through an absorbing third-round contest with Frances Tiafoe on Monday, winning the first set 13-11 on a tie-break that ultimately proved decisive in their three-set encounter.
The 20-year-old did defeat Zverev to claim the clay-court Hamburg Open title last year, although he has lost his other three meetings with the German, including their most recent clash on the indoor hard courts of the Paris Masters in October.
Fils is not an opponent any player wants to face right now, with the Frenchman on a clear upward trajectory in his young career. This is a potential stumbling block for Zverev, so don’t be surprised if this goes to a deciding set.
Alexander Zverev vs Arthur Fils Tip: Over 2.5 sets
