Alexander Zverev faces an intriguing encounter with Alejandro Fokina Davidovich in the third round in Madrid. 

Foki has the all-court game and variety for the clay and has posted some excellent results this year as well as in swings gone by. 

The Spaniard was too strong for Nuno Borges while Zverev was equally impressive in demolishing Roberto Bautista Agut. 

The German top seed boasts a 4-1 record over Foki and dropped just six games in their only previous encounter on clay at Roland-Garros four years ago. 

Zverev loves the conditions in Madrid and if he’s serving well he can be almost impossible to stop. ADF probably doesn’t have enough weapons to hurt him unless he’s inspired and the world number two has a serious off day.
