Alexander Bublik vs Andrey Rublev prediction

Andrey Rublev continues his title defence against familiar foe Alexander Bublik. 

The Russian leads the head-to-head with the world number 75 by a 5-2 scoreline but this will be their first encounter on clay. 

Bublik has been impressive so far, seeing off Alexei Popyrin 6-4 7-6 after another straight sets win over Alex Michelsen in the first round. 

Rublev has yet to swish a racket competitively this week after Gael Monfils withdrew with illness, so he could be slightly undercooked, although he does have a 6-3 6-4 success over the Kazakhstani fresh in his mind from Doha earlier this year. 

The seventh seed’s plus-one forehand holds the key and if that is firing in fast conditions, he will take some stopping.
