Alex Michelsen vs Nishesh Basavareddy Prediction

Alex Michelsen enjoyed an excellent year on the ATP Tour as he ended the year number 41 in the world and had an excellent 31-29 record. He reached a couple of finals in Newport and Winston-Salem and it really was a breakout year for the 20-year-old.

He will face off against Nishesh Basavareddy who he met twice in 2023 on the Challenger Tour. They both won one match apiece so it will be interesting to see how far each player has come since those encounters.

Basavareddy has been on the Challenger Tour in 2024 and has not played at all on the ATP Tour. The 19-year-old has ended the year ranked 138 and this will be a really good test for him.

All the signs have to point towards Michelsen however coming into this one. He had an impressive year and while there was little separating them a year ago, Michelsen has really kicked on in 2024. He will surely put a marker down and show that he has gone up a level here.
