Alex Michelsen vs Juncheng Shang Prediction

Alex Michelsen clearly is a man on a mission after such a disappointing showing at this event last year and he has been mightily impressive in his opening two matches so far. His win over Luca Van Assche on Thursday was outstanding and he was clearly motivated to avenge the defeat he suffered to the same opponent last year.

He now meets Juncheng Shang in this final group match and the Chinese talent was clearly struggling in his match against Nishesh Basavareddy on Thursday. Seemingly affected by illness, Juncheng Shang looked like he may potentially retire from his match with Basavareddy but he stuck it out. That loss sealed his exit from the tournament as it is impossible for him to qualify now so it is hard to see him putting much effort into this irrelevant match.

There is every chance Michelsen slightly eases off the gas here but given how much Juncheng Shang struggled on Thursday, it is hard to imagine he will recover in time to play much better here. Expect Michelsen to make it three from three here.
