Alex de Minaur vs Mattia Bellucci Prediction

Alex de Minaur has been impressive all week in Rotterdam and the Australian third-seed has yet to be troubled by any of his opponents. His latest win came against Germany’s Daniel Altmaier as he breezed past him 6-1 6-4 and that was his third consecutive straight-sets win.

The 25-year-old now comes up against Mattia Bellucci who is arguably the revelation of the week in Rotterdam.

Bellucci had to come through qualifying last weekend and then has beaten the second-seed Daniil Medvedev and then sixth-seed Stefanos Tsitsipas. The win over the Greek star was particularly impressive as he won 6-4 6-2 and thoroughly deserved the victory.

He now takes on De Minaur knowing that his efforts this week will already catapult him up the world rankings. He simply has nothing to lose at this point which makes him even more dangerous but one would fully expect a focused De Minaur will have his number.

De Minaur means business this week and knowing that he cannot ease off the gas against an in-form opponent will only focus him further. We expect De Minaur to progress to the final.
