Alex de Minaur vs Denis Shapovalov prediction
Alex de Minaur will aim to maintain his dominance over Denis Shapovalov with a first ever appearance in the round of 16 in Madrid firmly on his radar.
The Aussie continued his fine form on clay with a convincing 6-2 6-3 triumph over Lorenzo Sonego and looks a good bet to go deep in the tournament.
Shapovalov won 83% of points on his first serve as he outgunned former finalist Kei Nishikori 6-1 6-4 but he’s yet to crack the code when it comes to Demon with no victory in their four meetings on tour.
This will be their first match on clay, but Shapo will need to avoid the unforced error count spiralling as he tries to hit through the speedy Aussie, if he’s to have a realistic chance.
