Aleksandar Kovacevic vs Corentin Denolly prediction

Corentin Denolly continued his eye-catching form in Houston with a narrow win over home hope Brandon Holt in the first round.

The Frenchman backed up his tight victory over compatriot Adrian Mannarino in his last match in qualifying by edging out the American 7-6 7-6 in two hours and 19 minutes. 

Denolly was more efficient in terms of break point conversion (2/4) with Holt left ruing a 29% success rate from his seven opportunities on the French underdog’s serve. 

Denolly will need his current knack for delivering in the big moments against Aleksandar Kovacevic, who was excellent in his 6-3 6-4 win over seventh seed Tomas Martin Etcheverry. 

Kovacevic saved all four break points on his serve despite coughing up four double faults in the match.

The American has met Denolly once before with the Frenchman storming to a 6-0 6-3 win on the clay of Naples in 2021. 

It’s another tough call but Denolly fired 45 winners in his victory over Holt and if he can harness that firepower again, he may have edge.
