Alejandro Davidovich Fokina vs Alexei Popyrin prediction

Alejandro Davidovich Fokina is enjoying another impressive run at this event, having made the final three years ago. He picked up his third successive victory with a close win over British number one Jack Draper. The Spaniard had a match point in the second set which Draper saved but he still went on to win 6-3 6-7 6-4. 

The number five seed made numerous errors on his serve, with ten double faults, with Davidovich Fokina afterwards also admitting he didn’t play near his best, but he managed to battle through.

His opponent in the quarter-final will be Alexei Popyrin, who sprang one of the biggest surprises of the tournament when he took down last year’s finalist Casper Ruud in three sets. This is already Popyrin’s best finish at a tournament this season after a mostly disappointing campaign so far.
