Alan Soutar vs Kai Gotthardt Prediction

Scotland’s Alan Soutar returns to the PDC World Championships for the third time but he certainly made an impression on his two previous visits to Ally Pally.

In 2022, he reached the fourth round on his debut after beating Diogo Portela, Mensur Suljevic and Jose de Sousa before Callan Rydz knocked him out.

A year later he returned and produced similar heroics in overcoming Mal Cuming, Daryl Gurney and Danny Noppert before another fourth-round elimination.

He comes into this year’s event for another run and he will be as confident as ever after winning his first PDC title in June when he beat Daryl Gurney at the PC11 in Hildesheim.

He will take on German Kai Gotthardt in the first round with the world number 136 making his debut in the tournament. He earned his place in November by winning the PDC Europe Super League and he will be hoping to bring some of that momentum into this tournament.

Soutar is the favourite with the bookies and we also expect him to win. His pedigree and experience at this tournament will help him settle down quickly in this one and for that reason, we favour him to get the win against the German newcomer.
