Ajax vs Union Saint-Gilloise Prediction

In the first-leg of this tie in the Belgian capital, Brussels, last week, Ajax defeated Royale Union Saint-Gilloise by two goals to nil thanks to second-half goals from Christian Rasmussen and Jorthy Mokio.

Former Nice boss Farioli took charge of a failing Ajax side last summer and now the Amsterdam-based club have returned to the summit in the Eredivisie, sitting two points clear of defending champions PSV Eindhoven with a game-in-hand. They hammered Heracles Almelo by four goals to nil at the weekend.

Union SG have turned themselves into one of the more impressive, forward-thinking clubs in European football as an affiliate of Brighton and Hove Albion but they have stagnated this season with elimination from European competition now seemingly an inevitability as they sit third in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League table.

Now with home advantage at the Johann Cruyff Arena, Ajax should complete a comfortable two-legged victory with another win here, despite Union SG’s general potential.
