THE TEAM NEWS

SYDNEY SWANS

  • Sydney Swans returned to winning ways after their narrow loss to Essendon as they produced a solid display to see off North Melbourne and will be hopeful of building on that as they host Western Bulldogs.
  • The Swans were in control heading into the final quarter of the game thanks to a dominant showing in the third quarter and despite a late comeback from the Kangaroos, the Sydney outfit were able to see the game out.
  • Despite the win last week, the Swans have made three changes to their line-up with Sam Naismith back in the side following injury while Ben Ronke and Justin McInerney are also named in place of Colin O’Riordan, Sam Gray and Tom McCartin.

WESTERN BULLDOGS

  • Western Bulldogs won at the third time of asking in the 2020 AFL season as they were able to come out on top of a scrappy affair with last season’s beaten Grand Finalists GWS Giants.
  • The Bulldogs only managed 57 points but that was their highest total of the campaign so far and it proved to be enough as the Giants could only muster 33 in response.
  • There are two big changes omissions from the Bulldogs’ line-up this week with Matt Suckling dropped while star midfielder Josh Dunkley is injured so Louis Butler, Patrick Lipinski and Rhylee West are the new faces with Lin Jong also out through injury.

THE PREDICTION

Sydney Swans did what was required to move to 2-1 last week as they came out on top of their clash with North Melbourne. A return to Sydney provides the Swans with a chance to earn their first home win of the campaign as they host Western Bulldogs. The away side did just enough to clinch their first win of the season in their latest outing but they have suffered a major injury blow in the form of Josh Dunkley and having not set the world alight with last week’s performance, it is the Swans that should be able to come out on top here.
