THE TEAM NEWS
BRISBANE LIONS
- Brisbane Lions made it back-to-back successes following the resumption of the AFL as they were too good for West Coast Eagles last week and they will be confident of making it three wins in a row here.
- They host the struggling Adelaide Crows with a 2-1 record but only earned last week’s win thanks to a superb second half display after they had trailed at the half before outscoring their opponents 56-22 after the break.
- The Lions may have opted to make big changes had they not produced that second half performance but they do still make one alteration with Thomas Berry dropping out for Dayne Zorko.
ADELAIDE CROWS
- Adelaide Crows failed to win once again as they were beaten for the sixth time in succession stretching back in to last season and they will face an uphill task to end their drought on this tough trip to Brisbane.
- The Crows were terrible last week as they were hammered by Gold Coast Suns with the Adelaide outfit only managing to post a meagre 29 points as the Suns racked up 82.
- That worrying performance will have caused alarm bells among the Adelaide camp and they will be without the injured Rory Atkins this week while Matt Crouch and Paul Seedsman are dropped with Billy Frampton, Myles Poholke and Shane McAdam called up.
THE PREDICTION
Brisbane Lions had to produce a strong second half showing to see off West Coast Eagles last week but will take a lot from that effort and will be confident of making it three wins in a row as they host Adelaide Crows. The visitors have started the season the way they ended the previous campaign and have yet to win in 2020. They were terrible in their loss to Gold Coast Suns last week and it is likely their woes will continue here with the Lions able to win by at least 34 points.
