Adelaide Strikers Preview: Running out of time
Adelaide Strikers have just three games remaining to get the points required for a play-off place with them currently bottom of the table having lost five of their seven matches played so far. The Strikers’ five-wicket triumph over Melbourne Renegades on January 2nd was their only win since December 20th of last year, when they beat Melbourne Stars.
Their last game however, ended in a five-wicket defeat at the hands of Hobart Hurricanes in Tasmania. Adelaide were in a good position until Tim David started teeing off, his rapid 62 from only 28 balls leading Hobart to a successful 187-run chase.
Brisbane Heat Preview: Back to winning ways
Relief has no doubt been the buzzword among the Brisbane Heat camp after they recorded their first victory since they began the campaign with back-to-back triumphs. Chasing 174 to beat Sydney Thunder, Max Bryant thrilled the Gabba with a crucial 72 from just 35 balls batting at number five. However, credit must also go to Matt Renshaw for staying in and guiding the Heat safely home with 48 not out.
With seven points to their name so far and three league stage fixtures remaining including this one, Brisbane Heat are right in the thick of the play-off race and two more points here would be critical from their point of view.
Adelaide Strikers Betting Analysis
Both Lloyd Pope and Henry Thornton have once again proven pillars of this Adelaide Strikers bowling attack, as they did in last season’s competition. The pair have each racked up 11 wickets each over the course of seven games and whilst it’s difficult to separate the two players, bettors may well consider a stake on both via the ‘Team - Top Bowler’ market.
Brisbane Heat Betting Analysis
Brisbane Heat’s Max Bryant’s 72 last time out has helped him boost his overall run tally across BBL 14 so far to 225 from six innings. That’s an average of 56.25 and at a breakneck strike-rate of 167.91. Bryant will want to continue building on that over the course of this encounter and backing him to rack up 30+ runs this time around warrants attention.
Adelaide Strikers vs Brisbane Heat Expert Prediction
This is a must-win game for Adelaide Strikers really or their hopes of play-off qualification will be all but over, whilst for Brisbane Heat, victory is needed to keep themselves inside that top four. Although the Strikers have the home field advantage, they’ll underwhelmed for much of the campaign. Brisbane Heat may have been far from their best, but they have championship pedigree and are more than capable of building on that win against the Thunder. Consider backing the visitors to come out on top.
