TSZ TIPS

PATRICK REED

  • Patrick Reed may not be in the best of form coming into the Olympics but there is nobody more patriotic than Reed and this format will surely bring the best out of him in Japan while many other of the big stars may struggle for motivation.
  • Reed came T11 at the 2016 Olympics in Rio and while there is a strong group of Americans representing them in Saitama, do not rule out Reed upstaging his more illustrious compatriots in Morikawa, Schauffele and Thomas.

TIP: Top ten finish (13/10)

ABRAHAM ANCER

  • Another outsider who merits consideration in the Olympic Golf Tournament is Mexico’s Abraham Ancer who has enjoyed an excellent last three months on the PGA Tour.
  • He has four top eight finishes in his last seven events and the incredibly proud Mexican will be buoyed on to represent his country which will only add to his motivation.

TIP: Winner e/w (20/1)

PAUL CASEY

  • After a T4 finish at the PGA Championship, T7 at the US Open and T15 at The Open two weeks ago, Paul Casey is in fine form coming into the Olympic Games in Saitama.
  • After fellow Brit Justin Rose won Gold back in 2016 in Rio, Casey will be fired up to repeat that success and his solid performance at The Open last time out will give him good confidence that he can compete here.

TIP: Top ten finish (11/10)
