33-year-old Mikhail Kukushkin put in an assured performance to beat in-form Federico Coria in straight sets on Monday. The Kazakh veteran is certainly creeping towards the twilight of his long career but he is still a danger on this surface, on which he won his only ATP title at the 2010 St. Petersburg Open. This looks a really interesting first meeting between Kukushkin and world number 66 Ilya Ivashka as the Belarusian continues to enjoy his best year on tour to date. The 27-year-old beat an out of sorts Gael Monfils over three sets on Monday for one of the best wins of his career, although taking a set off Rafael Nadal on clay this season and beating Alexander Zverev top that feat. Ivashka has been constantly underestimated this season but he should be able to come through here in straight sets.
