ZHIZHEN ZHANG VS ANDREY RUBLEV PREDICTION

Andrey Rublev came close to securing another title last week as he reached the final in Montreal only to lose to Alexei Popyrin despite being heavy favourite. It seemed classic Rublev in many ways as when he was expected to win and the pressure on him, he crumbled. At the same event, he beat world number one Jannik Sinner and the quality of his tennis on the whole was good. Some of the same old issues continue to haunt him however.

He will have to put those aside and try bounce back from that final on Monday and he now faces Zhizhen Zhang. The Chinese 27-year-old comes off a good win over Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard which he won 6-3 7-6.

This will be a totally different challenge for Zhang stylistically however and he has struggled against Rublev in the past. The Russian has won both previous meetings against Zhang, including one earlier this year in Dubai on hard courts, so this is a good match-up for Rublev. Expect the Russian to bounce back and get the win here.
